β3GnT5 (B3GNT5) is the •Lactotriaosylceramide (Lc3Cer: GlcNAcβ1-3Galβ1-4GlcANcβ-Cer) synthase involved in the synthesis of neolacto-series glycolipids (involved in the synthesis of the polylactosamine on glycolipids). Furthermore, it has the activity to transfer GlcNAc also to the elongated paragloboside (paragloboside: nLc4Cer).
