B3GAT1

Last Update:2017-03-27

This enzyme is one from the group of enzymes involved in the synthesis of the HNK-1 carbohydrate antigen (HSO3-GlcAb1-3Galb1-4GlcNAc-R), and its enzymatic activity includes an activity that transfers a glucuronic acid (GlcA) from the donor UDP-GlcA to a galactose residue of the non-reducing terminal of the acceptor (Galb1-4GlcNAc-R) by the a1-3 bond. It is also known as Glucuronyltransferase P (GlcAT-P) as an alias.
