HS2ST1

Last Update:2021-12-17

HS2ST1 encodes heparan sulfate 2-O-sulfotransferase 1.The backbone of heparan sulfate is composed of repeating disaccharide units, GlcA/IdoA and GlcNAc/GlcNSO3, and sulfate modification occurs on each sugar. HS2ST1 catalyzes sulfation at the 2-position of GlcA/IdoA. The phenotype of HS2ST1 knockout mice was embryonic lethality.
