CHST7

Last Update:2021-12-10

CHST7 encodes carbohydrate (chonsroitin 6) sulfotransferase 3. This enzyme is involved in the biosynthesis of chondroitin sulfate. Chondroitin sulfate is a repeating disaccharide structure of (GalNAcβ1,4GlcAβ1,3), and CHST7 has C6ST activity to transfer sulfate to position 6 of GalNAc. In human, there are two isoenzymes (CHST3 and CHST7).
