CHST11

Last Update:2021-12-10

CHST11 encodes carbohydrate (chondroitin 4) sulfotransferase 11. This enzyme has C4ST activity to transfer sulfate to position 4 of GalNAc in the chondroitin sulfate biosynthesis. In human, there are three isoenzymes (CHST11, CHST12, CHST13). CHST11 knockout mice show chondrodysplasia due to defective construction of columnar structures in growth plate chondrocytes.
