CHST14

Last Update:2021-12-17

CHST14 encodes carbohydrate (N-acetylgalactosamine 4-0) sulfotransferase 14. This enzyme is involved in the biosynthesis of dermatan sulfate. Delmathan sulfate is a repeating disaccharide structure of (GalNAcβ1,4IdoAβ1,3), and CHST14 has D4ST activity to transfer sulfate to position 4 of GalNAc. CHST14 is the causative gene of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (kosho type).
