ST3GAL3 |
Last Update:2016-01-29 |
ST3GAL3, β-galactoside α-2,3-sialyltransferase 3, transfers sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to the Galβ1→3/4GlcNAc-R. ST3GAL3 is also known as ST3N or SIAT6. ST3GAL3 is involved in synthesis of sialyl Lewis a (NeuAcα2→3Galb1→3(Fucα1→4)GlcNAc-R). Homozygous mutations found in ST3GAL3 gene are suggested to cause mental retardation.
