ST3GAL6 |
Last Update:2016-01-29 |
ST3GAL6, β-galactoside α-2,3-sialyltransferase 6, transfers sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to the Galβ1→4GlcNAc structure on glycoproteins and glycolipids. ST3GAL6 is also called as SIAT10. ST3GAL6 utilizes the Galβ1→4GlcNAc on asialofetuin, neolactotetraosylceramide (nLc4) and neolactohexaosylceramide (nLc6), but not lactosylceramide. ST3GAL6-deficient mice demonstrated that ST3GAL6 and ST3GAL4 are required for the synthesis and function of the selectin ligands.
