ST6GAL1 |
Last Update:2016-01-29 |
ST6GAL1, β-galactoside α-2,6-sialyltransferase 1, transfers sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to the Galβ1→4GlcNAc structure on glycoproteins, such as asialofetuin and asialo-a1-acid glycoprotein. ST6GAL1 is also called as ST6N or SIAT1. ST6GAL1-deficient mice demonstrated that ST6GAL1 and its products are required for promoting B lymphocyte activation.
