ST6GALNAC6, N-acetylgalactosaminide α-2,6-sialyltransferase 6, transfers sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to the NeuAcα2→3Galβ1→3GalNAc-R structure on glycolipids. ST6GALNAC6 is also called as SIAT7F. ST6GALNAC6 is expressed in various tissues and can synthesizes GD1α, GT1aα and GQ1b. Disialyl Lc4 cam be further fucosylated to synthesize disialyl Lea.
