β1,4-N-Acetylglucosaminyltransferase-V (MGAT5) transfers GlcNAc to β1-6 on mannose of the GlcNAcβ1-2Manα1-6 structure (GlcNAcβ1-2Manα1-6Manβ1-R). GnT-V expresses in most of human and rodent tissues, while GnT-Vb mainly localizes in neural tissue and testes. GnT-Vb can synthesize GlcNAcβ1,6Man on both N- and O-glycans.
