β1,4-N-Acetylglucosaminyltransferase-V (MGAT5)は、MGAT2により合成されたGlcNAcβ1-2Manα1-6構造(GlcNAcβ1-2Manα1-6Manβ1-R)のMannoseにβ1-6でGlcNAcを転移する酵素である。GnT-Vは大部分のヒトや齧歯目の組織で発現しているのに対して、GnT-Vbの発現は主に神経組織と精巣に限られる。GnT-Vbは、N-とO-グリカン両方に対して、GlcNAcβ1,6Manを合成することができる。
