B3GAT3

Last Update:2021-12-03

B3GAT3 encodes beta-1,3-glucuronyltransferase 3. This enzyme synthesizes GalAβ1,3Galβ- by transferring glucuronic acid (GalA) with a beta 1,3 linkage toward non-reducing terminal Galβ- as an acceptor substrate. This structure is found in the linkage structure (GlcAβ1-3Galβ1-3Galβ1-4Xyl-O-Ser/Thr) between glycosaminoglycans such as heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate and proteoglycan core proteins.
