XYLT1

Last Update:2022-01-07

XYLT1 encodes xylosyltransferase 1. Glycosaminoglycans such as chondroitin sulfate and heparan sulfate are bound to proteoglycan (PG) core proteins via a linkage tetrasaccharide structure (GlcAβ1-3Galβ1-3Galβ1-4Xyl-O-Ser/Thr). XYLT1 is responsible for the first Xyl addition to Ser/Thr of PG core protein.
