is a town located in Miyagi Prefecture in the eastern Japan, about 300 km north
of Tokyo. The
hilltop hotel has breathtaking views of the famous Matsushima Bay, which is
dotted by many pine-clad islets and has been celebrated as one of the Japan’s
three most scenic views. Although autumn is the most popular and expensive time
of the year in Matsushima, the hotel offers reasonable rates including

rapid train (Kai-soku.)) Trains run every 20-30 min. From Sendai Station,

Tohoku Main Line. If you go to Taikanso directly from Sendai Airport by taxi, it will cost
around 12,000 JPY, take 70 min. (B) From Narita Airport(B-1) By PlaneYou can use a domestic flight
from Narita Airport to Sendai Airport. Two domestic flights are

take the Tohoku Shinkansen Line (bullet train) to
Sendai Station (ca. 11,000JPY, 1.5h by “Hayabusa”, 2h

useful for short stay travel (up to 5 days, 22,000 JPY [ca.180 USD]). The
round-trip from Narita or Haneda-Tokyo (Shinkansen)-Sendai-Matsushima Kaigan
(local line) and back to the airport will be covered by the JR EAST PASS. You can purchase it
online or at the JR EAST Travel Desk in Japan or an Exchange Order from your

the trains bound for “Ishinomaki” or “Takagi-cho” because these can reach Matsushima Kaigan
directly. (D-2) JR Tohoku Main
Line-Matsushima Station You can also use JR
Tohoku Main Line to get to Taikanso. If you use this
line, JR Matsushima Station is the closest (ca. 25 min). We recommend the trains
bound for “Ichinoseki”, “Ishikoshi”
or “Matsushima” because these can reach Matsushima directly(Do
not take the train bound for “Rihu” as it does not
